James thought he was just a vigilante.
A powerful one, sure - but still human.
He was wrong.

Now, war is coming to Earth.
Jenny - the fierce, grounded woman who found him - refuses to be left behind. But standing beside a cosmic prince comes at a cost. To fight, she must endure a dangerous, year-long augmentation that will either transform her into something more… or destroy her.

Ancient. Unstoppable. Engineered for war.
Once a royal guardian, she now steps into a new role: general of a last-ditch defense force, tasked with building an army from scratch. Her mission? Recruit and enhance one hundred humans - ordinary people willing to become something extraordinary.
As James fights to recover inside a chamber of cosmic energy, and Jenny undergoes her transformation, Caylny must hold the line - balancing interstellar warfare with the fragile human lives she’s sworn to protect.

Chapter 1: The Comet, the Crush, and the Cosmic Goo-Pod
Jenny watched in open-mouthed horror as the universe’s most powerful blunt instrument got used as a celestial speedbag.
James, her James - the man who could lift a truck with a thought and heal a cancer with a grunt - was losing. Badly. The chrome-plated maniac du jour was faster, meaner, and possessed a profound disdain for the dramatic flare of a superhero landing. Every time James tried to get his bearings, a metallic fist would introduce itself to his face with the sound of a bell being struck by a dump truck.
His world-altering powers? Useless. He’d punch a crater in the street where the thing had been, while it was already three blocks over, casually upending a bus.
He’d saved her family. He’d pulled them from the wreckage of their old life. And now, as he bled and stumbled across the ruined skyline, she was utterly useless. She tried to scream his name, but the sound was swallowed by the percussion of their fight - a symphony of shattering concrete and crumpling steel that flipped cars like they were cards in a dealer’s hand.
Then came the worst part. It wasn't a dramatic blast or a final, villainous monologue. It was a stumble. A missed grab. A slow, graceless arc downward.
James fell from the sky like a spent firework, all potential gone dark. He hit the ground with a final, sickening crunch that seemed to stop the very air.
No.
Jenny’s heart seized. She lunged forward, a raw sob tearing from her throat, but her dad’s arms - practical, desperate, parental - wrapped around her and hauled her behind a shuddering building facade.
Just in time.
BOOM.
A golden comet streaked into the battlefield with the subtlety of a god hitting the ‘mute’ button on reality. It didn't fly; it manifested between the fallen James and his attacker. The impact wasn't a sound so much as a total absence of it, followed by a pressure wave that exhaled every window in a four-block radius into glittering dust.
When the world swam back into focus, a figure stood amid the settling debris. A woman clad in armor of molten sunlight, holding James’s broken form as easily as a sheaf of wheat. She glanced down at him, then up at the chrome attacker, who was now missing an arm and looking considerably less smug.
She laid James down and then with a fury of a gorilla punch-obliterated the humanoid that was using James as a punch bag. Just like that it was no more. She wiped bluish goo off her hands and walked to where she had laid James and picked him up into her arms.
Without a word, without a sound, they vanished. James and the golden stranger. Just… poof.
The silence they left behind was more deafening than the battle. Jenny stood, trembling, her dad’s grip the only thing keeping her upright. He was gone. He was gone, and she didn’t know if he was breathing. The not-knowing was a live wire in her chest, sparking and fraying her sanity.
Minutes stretched into eternities.
Then - poof.
The golden woman reappeared, alone. Before Jenny could even form a question, the woman’s gaze swept over her and her parents. There was a flash of impossible light, a sensation of being gently folded through a cosmic doorway, and the ruined city street was gone.
They stood in a jungle clearing, the air thick and humming with unseen energy. In the center, pulsating gently, was a giant pod filled with what looked like electrically charged blue gelatin, bubbling and sparking with contained violence.
The golden armor flowed away like retreating tidewater, revealing a woman of impossible, serene beauty. She moved to sit cross-legged beside the furious goo-pod, as calm as a monk by a garden pond.
Jenny’s voice, when it finally came, was a shaky, shattered thing. “WHERE IS JAMES? IS HE OKAY?!”
The woman smiled, a placid, infuriating curve of her lips. “The Master is perfectly fine. He is merely… rejuvenating.”
“Who are you?”
“A long story,” the woman said, her eyes fixed on the sparking pod. “One that must wait for the Master to wake.”
“WHERE. IS. HE?” Jenny demanded, each word, a hammer strike.
The woman didn’t look at her. She simply pointed a graceful finger at the churning, radioactive-blue vat of cosmic pudding.
Jenny took an impulsive step forward. Instantly, the woman’s arm shot out, a bar of immutable platinum blocking her path. Her serene expression didn't flicker. “Do you possess a death wish, little human? The ambient bio-restorative radiation within would reduce your skeleton to slurry in 4.2 seconds. He is within the Carmetian Rejuvenation Cradle. You will wait!”
Jenny stared past the woman’s arm, at the violent, beautiful, terrifying goo. Somewhere in that electric, bone-dissolving soup was the man who meant the world to her.
