When ancient legends comes to aid
A vampire princess for a mother. A banished Alpha for a father. And a boyfriend who just grew wings.
Casi Blackwood finally has the answers she’s been searching for, but the truth is heavier than any secret. She’s not just a hybrid; she learns she's a walking prophecy. As ancient legends wake from their slumber, Casi discovers her true nature is something far more terrifying - and divine - than she ever imagined.
But in the world of monsters, being a savior makes you a target.
The Blackwood Clan, led by Claymore, wants her dead for the "sin" of her existence. The Hunter Order wants her on a dissection table.
As the war reaches its breaking point, the lines between myth and reality vanish:
The Impossible Alliance: For the first time in history, vampires and werewolves must stand together - or go extinct together.
A Wedding in the Crosshairs: When Casi’s grandparents - the most powerful Vampire Lord and a legendary Werewolf Alpha - crash her parents' wedding, the family reunion becomes a battlefield.
The Ultimate Choice: With next-gen weapons pointed at her front door and the Earth’s survival hanging in the balance, Casi must embrace her wings.
One girl holds the key to the future. But to save the world, she’ll have to survive her own bloodline first.

Chapter 1: The Hug That Broke the Crazy Meter
Okay, so Casi’s life lately? Imagine a blender. Now toss in: a surprise vampire gene, weird superpowers, a thirst for blood that’s super rude to manage, a cute werewolf boyfriend (Nathan, who’s a whole other level of complicated), finding out you’re a one-of-a-kind vampire-werewolf mashup, turning your best friends (the Parsons) into vampires to save them, and then having a secret society of monster hunters decide your new vampire BFFs are target practice.
So, yeah. “Chaotic” was putting it nicely. Thinking about her long-lost dad? That box had been shoved to the very back of her mental attic, under “Mysteries to Solve When I’m Not Running for My Life.”
Then he just… appeared. Like, poof. There he was, Alex, in the flesh, holding her mom in the middle of what was left of their messy world.
And they weren’t just holding each other. This was an embrace for the record books. Sixteen years apart melted in about six seconds. It was the kind of hug that makes airports cry. The kind of kiss that probably changed the local weather. You could practically see the loneliness her mom, Caroline, had been carrying around - a loneliness she’d hidden under easy smiles and quiet strength - just evaporate.
Casi, the world’s most reluctant hugger and proud introvert, felt tears she didn’t plan on streaming down her face. It was that powerful.
After a solid minute of the world’s most emotional reunion, everyone else remembered they existed. Ben, Lucy, and the Parsons had suddenly become very interested in their shoes, the trees, the sky - anything but blatantly staring. They were failing miserably.
Caroline finally pulled back, her face glowing, and waved Casi over. “Come here, sweetheart. Meet your father.”
Casi walked over, feeling like her legs were someone else’s. She looked into Alex’s eyes - eyes that were a weird, familiar shade of her own - and something in her chest went click. Like a circuit finally connecting. Before her brain could send up a flare that read “STRANGER DANGER: NO HUGS,” her arms were around him. She buried her face in his jacket, which smelled like pine and wild places. She, Casi “Personal Space Enthusiast” Blackwood, was full-on hugging a man she just met. And it didn’t feel weird. It felt like coming home.
The introductions were… tense.
“This is, Nathan, Ben, and Lily, and of course, Jane and Mark Parsons,” Caroline said, gesturing to her little vampire crew.
Alex gave a warm, if cautious, smile. “My pack. Meredith, Justin.” He motioned to the two fierce-looking werewolves behind him.
And oh boy. You could cut the air with a knife. Meredith, especially, looked at the vampires like they’d personally keyed her car and insulted her ancestor. Her glare wasn’t just a look; it was a whole hostile vibe that hit the vampires like a wall. Ben’s shoulders went tight. Mark took a subtle step in front of Jane and Lily.
Alex didn’t miss it. He sighed, a low, rumbling sound. “Meredith,” he said, his voice gentle but firm, a clear alpha’s command in it. “Behave. I know this is hard. Being near them… it stirs up old ghosts. But you know what they mean to me. And you know what you mean to me. Give them a chance. These are hunters turned,” he nodded toward the Parsons and the others, “they’re barely a year into this. They had nothing to do with… with what happened to you.”
It seemed like the tension might actually dial down a fraction. Then, a low, guttural growl erupted from behind Alex.
Justin.
His eyes had gone wolf-yellow, his body twisting and expanding with sickening cracks. Fur sprouted along his arms. The scent of vampires - especially new vampires that still smelled a bit like the Hunters he despised - had short-circuited his brain. All his rage, his sworn oath to wipe every last hunter from the earth, boiled over. He took one snarling step toward Caroline’s group.
He didn’t get a second.
A wave of pure, undiluted terror hit the clearing. It wasn’t a sound or a sight. It was a feeling - an ancient, icy dread that shot down your spine, froze your blood, and whispered that death was right behind you. It came from Caroline.
Justin didn’t just stop. He crumpled. He hit the dirt with a thud, his body shuddering, the wolf receding as fast as it had come, chased away by primal fear. He lay there, human again, stunned and gasping like a fish on land.
And he wasn’t the only one. Ben, Lucy, the Parsons, even fierce Meredith - all of them doubled over, heaving, faces pale. It was like the world’s worst rollercoaster drop lasting for ten solid seconds. Only Alex and Casi seemed mostly unaffected; Alex stood firm, a rock against the psychic storm, and Casi just felt a cold shiver.
When the terror lifted as suddenly as it came, the clearing was filled with the sounds of ragged breathing and quiet gagging.
Caroline stood calmly, but her eyes were like chips of frosty diamond. Her voice, when she spoke, was quiet, but it carried to every single person, vibrating with authority.
“You are all my guests. In my home. Excuse me - my hometown.” She let that sink in. “And as my guests, meaningless fighting is forbidden. I don’t know your history. Everyone has a history. But in my town, my rules are carved in stone. Break them…” She let her gaze sweep over the still-kneeling Justin and the pale, wide-eyed others. “…and you get a demonstration of the repercussions.”
No one laughed. No one even breathed too loudly. The fear they’d just felt was no joke. This woman, Caroline, with her easy smiles and mom vibes, was absolutely, terrifyingly not a pushover.
As everyone slowly picked themselves up, shooting nervous glances at each other and their formidable host, one look stood out. Alex was gazing at Caroline, his “Cara,” with an expression of raw, awe-struck admiration. It was a look that said, That’s my girl.
Casi looked from her mom, the secret badass, to her dad, the proud werewolf leader, to the gaggle of terrified vampires and hostile wolves. Her introvert brain sent up its final flare of the evening.
Well, she thought. The family reunion’s going great. Just awesome. Now what?
